Christina Piercing
The Christina Piercing is one of the most popular intimate piercings for women. In our guide you can find out everything about piercing, prices, care & more.
Christina Piercing Guide
The Christina piercing is one of the most popular Intimate Piercing for women and, according to legend, is named after the first wearer of this body Jewelry. This piercing is located on a woman's mons veneris and is also known as the Catherine Piercing, Venus Piercing or Mound of Venus Piercing. Here you will find all the important information about Christina piercings.
Piercing and costs of a Christina piercing
The Christina piercing is pierced at the lower end directly through the fold above the labia and at the upper end about 15 mm to 30 mm above it on the mons veneris. Some women cannot have this piercing because the fold above the labia majora is missing. In this case the Christina piercing is anatomically not feasible.
As with other types of piercing, the piercing points are marked by the piercer. However, the area is well illuminated so that possible veins running through the mons veneris are not accidentally hit during piercing. The piercing is then pierced with a hollow needle.
The cost of a Christina piercing varies from studio to studio and from region to region. On average, they amount to about 60 € to 90 €.
Christina piercing jewellery
When choosing the right Piercings jewellery for this intimate piercing, there are a few things to consider. First of all, the jewellery should not be too short, otherwise there is a risk that the jewellery will grow out or sink into the tissue. The bar thickness should be about 1.6 mm to 2.5 mm.
Curved Barbell Piercing or surface bar piercings are generally considered as Christina jewellery. These are available in our shop in all colours such as silver, gold, rose gold, black etc.. The most comfortable piercings are made of Bioflex (PTFE). Surgical Steel Piercing or Titanium Piercing are also possible alternatives. However, there is no general rule here, as every woman's anatomy is different.
You can find Christina piercings in all sizes and lengths. Due to our wide selection and reasonable prices, we are the first place to go when buying your Christina jewellery.
Pain, care and healing
The pain of getting a Christina Piercing is different for every woman. Generally, however, it is perceived as rather less painful. However, the healing time is about 6 to 9 months, which is much longer than with other intimate piercings.
Wearing tight clothing during the healing phase is not recommended, as it can cause friction at the stitch canal and thus lead to pain and inflammation. You should also avoid sexual intercourse for the first four weeks after the piercing to avoid irritating the piercing unnecessarily. It is also advisable to be very careful when dressing and undressing, as the piercing can otherwise quickly become tangled with clothing or even be torn out.
Proper care is especially important for the healing of intimate piercings because they are more susceptible to inflammation. Therefore, always ensure good hygiene, especially in the beginning. Your hands should be washed every time you touch them and disinfected well to prevent germs from getting in. In general, the piercing should be touched or moved as little as possible during the healing period to minimise the risk of inflammation.
Risks of the Christina Piercing
Despite good care and hygiene, problems can occur with the Christina piercing. While initial itching, swelling and redness is normal, persistent or more severe discomfort can be a sign of inflammation. In this case, the piercer should be consulted.
Another risk is that the piercing will grow out. This can happen if the jewellery is too short or the piercing was not pierced deep enough. It is also a possible risk that the ball will sink in.
Changing the Christina Piercing
Ideally, Christina jewellery should only be changed after the piercing has healed completely. The first jewellery change should be done by your piercer so that the piercing is not changed incorrectly or too early. This is because it is easy to make a mistake about when the piercing is completely healed, as the piercing heals from the outside in.
Effect of a Christina Piercing
Unlike many other stimulating intimate piercings, the Christina piercing has a purely visual use. No increase in sensitivity during sexual intercourse is achieved by piercing this piercing. Women who decide to have this piercing usually only get it as a beautification of their bodies. Another reason for the decision of many women is also the increase in their attractiveness.
